G34, another connection between MYCN and a pediatric tumor.
Recurrent mutations in H3F3A at K27 and G34 are frequent in pediatric glioblastoma, but it is unclear how these mutations promote tumorigenesis. In this issue of Cancer Discovery, Bjerke and colleagues identify mutations at G34 in H3F3A that result in elevated expression of MYCN as a potential mechanism in gliomagenesis.

F this issue of the CJS, we have declined to write a specific editorial from the editors. In its place, with our full support, is an editorial by Dr. Ronald Lett, President of the Canadian Network for International Surgery (CNIS), describing a developing link between the CJS and the East and Central African Journal of Surgery (ECAJS). The work of the CNIS has been highlighted in the journal in ...
متن کاملSN 1999 E . Another piece in the SN – GRB connection puzzle ⋆
Detailed optical and near–IR observations of SN 1999E have confirmed early suggestions that this supernova was indeed a twin of the peculiar type II SN 1997cy: it was exceptionally luminous and had evolved slowly, and the line profiles had narrow peaks and broad wings, indicating interaction with the circumstellar material. Nevertheless, the most intriguing characteristic was that, in analogy t...

متن کاملThe connection between noise and quantum correlations in a double quantum dot
We investigate the current and noise characteristics of a double quantum dot system. The strong correlations induced by the Coulomb interaction and the Pauli principle create entangled twoelectron states and lead to signatures in the transport properties. We show that the interaction parameter φ, which measures the admixture of the double-occupancy contribution to the singlet state and thus the...
